Creating Awesome Theatre in the Heart of Times Square

ON Creativity AGAIN - and pushing past Approval!

Creativity is a weird bird.  Sometimes you fly with it, and at other times, it seems to crap on you.  But the truth of the matter is… IT IS ALL GOOD.

For every brilliant line, there is a mediocre one that is cut.  For every amazing plot development, there is a stereotypical one.  Consistent creation creates genius, not the other way around. You have to be in it, the good, the bad, the ugly, and the fun, in order to create something that elevates magically to a higher level.

So what stops you?

What stops me?

A big thing for me is approval.  I like to be liked. It is a childhood thing, but it really gets in my way if I am seeking the approval of anyone but myself when I am writing, directing or acting in a play.  As soon as I try to figure out what someone will like, or how to get someone to like or approve of this, or get the director to approve of my performance, I am screwed.  I am not coming from that magical place anymore of unbridled creativity.  I am simply looking to be loved.

And the sad truth is:  Everything I ever did to get the love or approval of anyone actually created the opposite.  Approval seeking sucks.

Create from your heart, your soul.  If people don’t get it, they just don’t get it.

The most important thing is that you get it, live it, feel it, believe in it because it is important to you.  Connect to your heart, to your soul, to your gut, to your fears and dreams when you create, and your creative universe will unfold.

Give in to the judgements of others, and you are finished.

Don’t be righteous in your creativity - seek constructive feedback as constructive feedback, but don’t ever change anything so that people will like you, for ultimately they won’t and you will lose out.

Start today, now, right this second to celebrate the creative heart/soul in you and start manifesting!  Creativity is magic, and you are the master magician.

It’s time to create.  Go for it.  UNBRIDLED!

with best regards,
