Doing Something Seriously Creative!
I just found this in the book IGNORE EVERYBODY AND 39 OTHER KEYS TO CREATIVITY by Hugh MacLeod, and I thought I would share it with you in the context of self-producing your own theatrical work.
“…Doing something seriously creative is one of the most amazing experiences one can have, in this or any other lifetime. If you can pull it off, it’s worth it. Even if you don’t end up pulling it off, you’ll learn many incredible, magical, valuable things.
It’s not doing it - when you full well know you had the opportunity - that hurts far more than any failure.”
If you have a play you are interested in self-producing, please submit to our Spring Play Festival (info at http://www.manhattanrep.com). We especially love first time producers, and we will be there to support you through the process.
Isn’t it about time you did something SERIOUSLY CREATIVE?
With best regards,
Ken Wolf, Artistic Director, Manhattan Rep
